January 2010. Rio has launched the next generation of home hair removal systems,                        The IPL8000™.  As a nominated suppler of Rio products www.so-smooth.co.uk  will take delivery of the new product from February 2010.

So-Smooth are very excited about the launch of the Rio IPL8000™ and have already had enquires about the new system. The new home system has been clinically proven to remove hair more effectively with longer lasting results.  180 unwanted hairs per second can be removed from larger areas of the body, compared to the removal of 60 hairs, in several seconds, with its predecessor the X60. With the latest technology it’s able to deliver a quicker and more permanent way of removing excess hair safely, destroying hair at its root, and at a fraction of salon costs.

www.so-smooth.co.uk are awaiting the arrival of the IPL 8000™ which uses the latest Intense Pulsed Light hair removal technology.  IPL delivers quicker and more efficient permanent hair reduction and is suitable for larger areas of the body including legs, arms, underarms, bikini lines, backs and chests. Typically the IP8000™ can remove hair on a whole leg in approximately 30 minutes, and underarm hair in 10 minutes. 

So-Smooth recognise the damage that some systems can have on our eco system and Rio delivers high quality products that have minimal impact on the environment.  The IPL8000™ is mains operated and uses professional, energy saving, grade quartz bulbs ensuring prolonged bulb life.  The bulb life is greater than would normally be required to remove every hair on the body and has been tested to over 10,000 flashes.

New safety features have been introduced to the IPL8000™ from the security key to skin detectors.  A new feature reducing the risk of using too high a power level for your skin and hair type is the ‘power level regulator’.  Initially the power level starts at number 1 for the first treatment and is increased step by step per session, and decreased in the same way.

A security code has been added to the system to eliminate misuse.  Skins sensors mounted on the wand will ensure that the IPL treatment only works when good contact is made with the skin, and should the light be pointed at the eye, a safety ‘blink’ light has been added for eye protection.

However, the IPL8000™ does have its limitations and users should refer to the manufactures instructions to determine if the machine is suitable for their skin type, and it cannot be used on the face or head.
